RMHA ID Numbers

A bit of history:

RMHA ID #s have been assigned under a number of different schemes.  Thus the numbers themselves range from "21" to "2021287"  The number itself and the size of the number have no particular meaning.  Further, these were treated as "membership" numbers initially, so one number was given for family memberships... and thus, yes, two adults have one number.

With the transition to the Drupal 9 site in November of 2021 the following decisions were made:

  1. Its an RMHA ID, not a "membership" ID.  Thus the number remains even if a contact changes the type of membership, or even if a membership lapses.
  2. The RMHA ID is assigned by CiviCRM to EVERY new contact added to the system.  Thus even non-members who purchase registry services will have an ID # in the system
  3. The ID # is just an integer, it increments by +1 with every contact added.  If there is a gap in the number sequence, that's ok b/c it just means that a duplicate contact was deleted

Note: LIMITED TIME OFFER!  The RMHA ID for a contact can be changed in CiviCRM.  Once all the imports are complete this will become a view-only field (changes will have to be made in the database at that point)
